This peasant dish from Sicily translates to “pasta when the weather is bad”. It is what fishermen made when the weather conditions didn’t allow them to fish. Besides broccoli and pasta, it uses common ingredients found in every Sicilian kitchen such as pine nuts, raisins, bread crumbs, anchovies, and saffron.
I am half Italian, was raised eating the finest Italian-American cuisine, and have filmed almost 2000 recipe videos, so when you consider all of those facts, it seems incredible that I have never posted a video for baked ziti. Hopefully I make up for that long wait by posting what I think is the best version of it.
This is a fabulous main dish and is company worthy. Serve with rice and a cooked vegetable for a complete meal. Word of warning: it is not diet friendly
A quick and filling meal for two is just minutes away. While fusilloni pasta cooks, whip up a sauce made with creamy fresh ricotta, ground turmeric, and add a touch of pepper.
These slow cooker meatballs are Italian style but with a twist, ground chicken instead of beef. Serve over pasta of your choice or use the meatballs and sauce to make a sub. Leftover sauce freezes well.
I’m gonna show you my take on this amazing Italian custard pudding. Above and beyond that rich and decadent butterscotch flavor, the texture here is unbelievable. To say it’s smooth and luxurious doesn’t come close to doing it justice. Serve as-is, with whipped cream, or topped with caramel sauce and flaky sea salt.
Tart balsamic vinegar brightens up bell peppers, sweet tomatoes, and juicy chicken sausage for flavorful Italian fare. Bring it all together with toasted bread and fresh oregano.
After eating chicken piccata in many restaurants and finding many that were ‘greasy,’ I came up with this recipe through much trial and error. It has wonderful flavor and is even better the next day! I like to serve it over angel hair pasta or linguine.
This is an easy chicken Parm recipe that’s delicious.
You can do this in an oven or a toaster oven.
This labor of love is not your traditional red meat sauce. Bolognese is a delicious meat sauce that is refined and simmered for hours to bring out the great flavors of all the ingredients. Combine it with tagliatelle or with your favorite pasta to create a satiny, creaminess from the pasta starches that make this a memorable meal. Serve with a loaf of crusty Italian bread.
